But the Giants seem to have a specific plan in mind for Robinson and so maybe that is why they were so eager to get him. The Giants are going to have a very different offense than what we have seen over the last few years and in making such changes, perhaps Daboll, Schoen, and Kafka believed this pick was necessary.
The idea that they are going to trade Toney is ludicrous--the point is to have at least two of these weapons on the field at the same time, maybe even three with Shepard (if he can ever stay healthy). Buckle-up, it is going to be a high flying offense! I can't wait to see this offense when the games start. And Danny Dimes will finally get a fair and legitimate chance to prove he can be a franchise QB, an opportunity he didn't get under Jason Garrett and the Giants broken offense of the last two seasons.
The Robinson pick bothered me more than anything. Such a high pick in the second round is very valuable, and there were so many good players available (in poisitions of need).
I really do hope that Robinson becomes a great player for the Giants, of course. I don't like the phrase "gadget player," expecially before the guy has had a chance to show what he can do.
If the Giants can have all of their WRs on the field at the same time, that will be key. Are these guys just injury-prone? Or was there something about last season's coaching regime that were a factor in the injuries?
