Barkley is the Man With The Golden Arm-
Greed Is Bad.
There was a plan this season in place from day 1. RUN BARKLEY INTO THE GROUND. It wasn't explained in such a harsh manner but I have it from two sources that the Giants planned to used Barkley extensively in his last contract year. Cynically you could say if the car is going to drive away we are going to run it into the ground first. And that was the plan.
Coach Daboll got a clean look at his Car in question and when he saw how that thing perrrred down the field his own eyes were opened.. maybe this isn't the correct vehicle to run into the ground; maybe Saquon is a weapon so devastating it's worth worth protecting?
The Giants have two games to go before their bye week. It is imperative the Giants get Barkley through the next two games with no further damage to the shoulder.
A shoulder injury for a running back is especially problematic-- I did not like seeing the injury come up again last week-- that meant it wasn't stinger to begin with but something more significant.
Barkley needs to be saved from himself. I do not like to see an athlete in this particular headset. The series of events that are taking place with Barkley. 1> out for a long time with injuries fans go crazy 2> comes back but is afraid to admit when his dinged up-- Barkley would run on the field now with an appendage actually hanging off his body-- he's that tightly wound about the" injury label. " We all take some blame in this situation but we do not want to see a tough Barkley doing too much.
This reporter will not be caught talking about the playoff chances of the Giants. Any such talk should be put aside. If you do think that way think this: you ain't getting anywhere close to the playoffs without a fully healthy Barkley. So the ultimate gameplay this week is how do we win-> and How do we take Barkley's workload down 1/2 and make sure we get to the bye week with no more shoulder pain.
The Colts showed that Jacksonville's D can be picked apart with short passes and dinks and dunks... well HELLO DANNY! We can do that in spades.
Crossing routs and quick passes that never lets the Jags defenders pin their ears back-
The Colts also used the hurry up offense to great effect against the Jags. We should use the hurry up all 2nd qtr.
"I think we knew the plays that we were in, I don’t think we knew that they were going to hit crossing routes the whole game. Obviously, when they started doing it the whole game, there’s adjustments that we should’ve had," linebacker Foyesade Oluokun said.
"Maybe just in whatever coverage it was to come back with it. I know I missed one, must’ve been the third quarter. Whatever coverage you’re in, they show us a specific formation, especially when they’re doing hurry-up, they only have so many plays that they can do. When we see that formation again, expecting the same routes, they kind of just drained us out their front side. I don’t even know if they were running real routes, expecting either the low or the high crosser, just match with it. That’s something we see on film, and we know we can adjust to now, but it’s a learning thing.”
The Giants D had some serious issues against the run last week, this week they will have to keep Travis Etienne in check.
We have a man with a golden arm.
We have a man who is supposed to get a Golden Jacket.
What is the moral of the story the goose with the golden eggs?
The moral of 'The Goose That Laid the Golden Eggs' is fairly obviously that greed is bad: Lets not be so greedy for another win that we put the rest of the season and Barkley's health in jeopardy.
FINAL SCORE-
New York Giants 30
Jackson Jags 20
