Jones is a top QB. Sign him up to 35+ per year for a 5-10 year contract. Jones is a QB who can win a Super Bowl, they just need to build the pieces around him. That will be Schoen's job, but first things first: sign Jones to a long term deal and then give him the supporting cast he needs to win a Super Bowl. It's that simple.
Never hated Jones, always liked Jones and thought he had all the tools to be elite. The problem that I saw is that the Giants were running an ultra conservative offense and I interpreted that to mean that they don't believe in Jones and would be moving on from Jones. Just as I reached that opinion, the Giants opened up the offense (remember that 4th and 8) and Jones did very well in the more aggressive passing scheme. Clearly, the Giants were taking it slow with Jones, getting him comfortable in the offense, and when they felt they had achieved that, they opened up the offense and Jones met the challenge by playing great at the end of the season and in the Vikings game.
Jones is a franchise QB and he proved that this year. But it took him time to prove it.
There is no doubt that Jones is just as good as Jalen Hurts, and he might even be better. We have to remember some crucial factors: Eagles = best OL, best WR group; Giants = worst OL, worst WR group (for the most part) and all that matters for a QB's production. Put Jones on the Eagles and his numbers would be elite. Jones overall 2022 numbers weren't elite but there were elite aspects to his game and those aspects will translate nicely when the Giants put a better team around him. At the end of the day, Jones only played with two other quality players on offense, Barkley and Thomas. Everyone else was either average or bad, and that matters.
