I still believe PFF his horse crap. Maybe I’m old school I guess. Sane with pro days, combines etc. put on the tape. Real play. Add human element to it.
Sane on Jones or any other position group. There is more to the equation than the actual play played. Instead of Jones let’s use Neal. Neal gave up a lot of pressures and sacks. But not all are on him. There were a lot of pressures and sacks Neal gave up getting beat to the outside. Some of those were him. Some were on the TE and lack of help on the outside and some were on the quarterback holding the ball.
It’s funny how jones gets a pass because of poor offensive line play or Neal gets bashed and not given a pass. Some say it’s a team sport. Ok. Then let’s blame the team and not pin it all on 1 guy
Pff doesn’t bring that into the equation. It’s an algorithm based off of individual play. How many doubles and releases or combo blocks do offensive lineman play? How many time to players get doubled or help under or over. Does it account for a missed tackles when a player did everything right but the guy in front of him didn’t and he had to attempt to make a play out of position? Does that count against him? How can Barkley have such a high rating when he bounces it to the outside for a short gain instead of getting behind his pads and using that 230 pound body to get a tough 3 yards? So much that is missed with PFF
Look at the tape. Understand the play and who is responsible for what
Paoli is on Sirius xm a lot. I agree with him. It’s all bull S$&t.
Another thing is how analysts say a player is flying up draft boards. Nope. Boards are set before combined etc. they may have a few players with red flags due to medical or character concerns that they need to clear up. McCarthey etc. all these players were probably very close to where teams had them back in February
