So, you've decided to bash Thibs season in a thread about his twitter beef with Joe Staley? Really? Thibs was one of the best rookies in the league, but sure, he didn't live up to your lofty standards of what a rookie LBer should be. To use your own words, "C'mon".
just bc he was held every game does not make him a force at edge. you got to overcome.
Im not bashing him, but as u say to me, very snarkily..my lofty standards aside i saw what i saw.
and maybe he is a great pass rusher in the making, but so far....NOT.
but many NYG fans always use, he is a rookie, he got to learn etc etc....I see that argument for OT, they got to learn.
BUT defensive end/edge, its a athletic speed strength position to get your leverage. how many times did Thibs go straight up vs a huge OT.
this was not good IMO.
being one of the best rookies of the year at his position is because how many other rookie edge rushers were there.
regardless of that, I would say and you can disagree....
he has a long way to go to be in the running for defensive player of the year.
His one great game, where he got accolades is not lost on me.
BUT you are what you are, and this year , the stats above are his, like it or not.
now Im sticking my tongue out at you and giving you the raspberry (I would rather not be snarky !)
His rookie season consists of him being a defensive player of the week, a Pro Bowl alternate, named to the All-Rookie NFL team and helping to lead the Giants defense back to respectability. Again, I think your standards are way too high.
As for learning, follow Osi Umenyiora on social media, he's very good at pointing out the things Thibs is learning and will have to learn in this league. How to set up an OT for a particular move. How to read a QB/offense pre-snap. How to properly set the edge. It doesn't matter what position, rookies always need to learn.
