if you believe that Jones surrounded by a good OL and WR and RB and TE is the qb to lead NYG to a super bowl within this next contract, then danny boy gets paid his 40M+.
if you dont believe that will happen even with those pieces in place, then you can let him walk.
why keep him even for 32 mil a year , or tag him and all the other scenarios that let us keep Jones but pay him way less than the 40-45M.
Ill just say, No podcast believes this, entertainah, chat sports, big banter and more...they always look for the lesser amount and state he hasnt proved it by his first 4 years.....and u know what, theyre correct.
and above I said to let him go, because whats the point then.
a Tyrod Taylor or whomever can do whatever the same. trust me Daboll and all NYG (schoen) believe in the "New" Daboll system. and considering it worked with 'a' Daniel Jones to a certain degree, that limited success can be had with any "so so" qb.
with that being the case...again, let him go and go with the tyrod taylors of the league until they find who they want. and when they find that new guy then theyll be under the gun to really really be contenders, not this last or next to last wildcard.
one last thought was, if NYG is so damn hard up for a QB, which they should not bem theres a Mayfield, Bridgewater, get your Nills guy Case Keenum, Mason Rudolph, Jacoby Brissett, Mike white, dalton, flacco, heinecke, drew lock, Henne, sudfeld, peterman, cooper rush, stidham and Gardner Minshew III.
personally, I put Jones in this class, every one of these QBs had a chance, were suppose, maybe could have been great....with all the parts from OL to WR....but it did not turn out that way.
in a few years IMO, Jones is in this category, actually its probably now. and its is why NYG want him cheap or do not be surprised if a name here of the 2023 free agend QBs becomes a starter for our NYG.
the phrase, In so and so we trust. I would say that applies to, In Daboll we trust, In Schoen we trust , especially after this past decade of crap before them.
so do we trust in Jones, do they...I dont think so .
