Interesting article. I tend to agree with it. There is a comment by one person and its not me
NOT ME
I've been a NY Giant fan since 1965, I am also a veteran that served in the U.S. Army for 10 years. There is a thing about Daniel Jones's current quandary. Somehow Daniel believes that he is an elite quarterback warranted being remunerated in excess of $45 million dollars. I haven't seen him take any serious head blows or suffer head injury so I can't believe he believes this.
He has been a subpar quarterback for his first 3 years and presently is considered as only a Par quarterback. Looking at His Performance this year even he would have to say the new coaching regime and his teammates are what even elevated him to being a Par quarterback. And because of him being elevated to Par status, he feels his value should be commensurate with a twice victorious super bowl MVP aka Patrick Mahomes.
Answer me this Daniel; who's to say you won't regress back to Sir fumbles it all the time Danny Dimes? Why do you think you deserve to be paid the same as Patrick Mahomes? Have you been consistent, durable, and reliable/dependable?
The truth of the matter is, you are not even worthy of having the Franchise Tag applied to you. The Giants should release you right now and get a quarterback either in the draft or through free agency. Be aware, the same way they trained you and elevated you to your first winning season, they can do the same with a rookie or free agent and save themselves the money on the Franchise Tag by paying other free agents on the team that is more deserving and more team-oriented.
I lauded Brian Daboll for being willing to give you a last chance to prove your worth and was ecstatic for you both as you were showing improvement, maturity, and growth, and this is how you repay their faith, belief, and trust in you.
As I've stated earlier, I believe your request should be seen for what it is and they should choose to leave you to your own demise and keep the money for the Franchise tag and use it to reward other TEAM MEMBERS more deserving of it!
