I was wondering about the Patriots. They need a QB and Belichick has often praised Jackson, he really likes him.
The Patriots don't like spending the money, though, and Jackson will cost a fortune. On the other hand, how many years does Belichick want to waste looking for a QB? Belichick is getting up there in age and Jackson would easily solve the QB issue for the Patriots, giving Belichick his best chance to win another S.B. before riding into the sunset.
The Pats are in QB hell -- they usually win too many games each year to get a top 10 pick and thus aren't in the best position to draft a franchise QB. Moreover, it will take a young QB a few years to develop -- does Belichick want to waste that time developing a QB?
Then again, maybe they think M.Jones can be fixed, but he was terrible last season.
These Patriots QBs are two young, talented quarterbacks with tons of upside. I don't see this same situation in Las Vegas, Indianapolis, Miami, NY Jets, or even San Francisco. Those are teams that are in much greater 'dire straights' than New England.
You definitely watched different QBs then I watched. Zappy is a backup at best. Mac Jones is amazingly mediocre. A poor man’s Ryan Tannehill. As a Pats hater, I hope they stick with those two for a long time. As you say, just my opinion but living in MA I am forced to watch a lot of Pats games.
