Giants are in a good cap situation moving forward. Other than re-signing Jones, Lawrence and Thomas, in three off seasons Joe Schoen has only given out 3 Contracts that average over $10M per year to free agent or trade additions: Bobby Okereke, Jon Runyan Jr., and Brian Burns. That is what has put the Giants in the upper third of the league over the next three years. Not bad considering Jones' contract situation.
I actually think it's not such a bad idea though, so long as the cap keeps going up. Clearly Howie Roseman doesn't mind doing it.
The lawsuit that the NFL is involved in could potentially send the whole NFL into a tail spin if they were to lose the Sunday ticket revenue. www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/the-21-billion-lawsuit-that-could-break-the-nfl/ar-BB1nFijo
Imagine what would happen if the cap suddenly went down ALOT due to losing that lawsuit! There could suddenly be lots of good NFL players getting cut and on the street so to speak and an opportunity for another league to start picking ups some serious talent.
