I feel some fans are disingenuous was when claiming how easy it is to replace SBs value to the offense. I get that there is a team every year that hits on a late round RB that has a season of productivity. Unfortunately, those teams are inevitably searching for that one year wonder's replacement the following season and ultimately left lacking. The difference between "dime a dozen" RB vs a top RB like SB is that SB is not a one hit wonder and has the ability to duplicate his production from season to season and often lead their teams in all purpose yards for multiple seasons. These "dime a dozen" RBs are quickly forgotten. Too often top RBs are lumped into the same group as these dime a dozens. As a runner Gray is solid. As a receiver Gray is solid. It appears his pass protection is his problem. I have to say though. The improvement from game to game in pass protection has improved. Gray will make the 53 because of special teams
Barkley by the way is average at best in pass protection
But the big issue with your post is about Barkley. Last year PFF rated Barkley as the #1 RB in the league at pass pro. He's average? Not last year he wasn't. Barkley was extremely good in pass pro last year. All RBs miss once in a while, but Barkley seems to have really figured it out.
