I think Saquon is as good as gone after this season. I don't see them tagging him again and I don't see a multiyear contract worked out unless he suddenly will settle for something like $8M a year. Probably best to move on, for both parties, and draft a RB in the 3rd round to rotate with Breida and Gray.
The Giants have the ability to shed a LOT of cap money this offseason. Leonard Williams comes off the books. Adoree Jackson. Saquon (if they move on). They're going to have plenty of cap space, and I don't want them spending all of it either like they did they last offseason. Get a RT and maybe a guard too, maybe a linebacker, a slot corner, an edge rusher. Then use the draft, where they will probably have higher picks, to bring in some real good young talent. No more of these guys that can make the roster but are not difference makers. They need guys that actually open eyes. The only draft picks that have turned out to be really good to great players in recent history are Andrew Thomas and Dexter Lawrence. That's it. Barkley could fit that mold but he's been injury prone and unavailable so I don't consider him at their level.
That is the price for the moronic contract Schoen gave jones .
next year qbs draft is one of the strongest in memory
I agree that if they have a top 5 pick they need to get a QB. I’d like a trade down for more picks but you can’t pass up a potential star quarterback. They better get it right because if not it would set them back another five years.
And if they get a QB they sure better fix that dang offensive line. Spend FA money on a RT and maybe a guard too. Draft a tackle and guard also.
