In the first quarter of the first game we had a healthy team, and we lost the game by the end of the first quarter. What made anyone think this was going to be anything but a season like this? A feel good story about a local kid living his dream? Did you think that somehow elevated the talent on this team? Stop it. I'm surprised we won 5. Somebody said we were an 8 win team. Like I said, I'm surprised we got to 5.
What is it? It's simple - these dudes aren't very good. When your starting guard is a scrap heap guy, your OL sucks. You got Thips, Okereke, Dex, and that's it on D. You got Barkley, and Thomas on O, and maybe a couple of young WR, but that's it. There's a small number of good players, and everyone else out there is just a guy. Nothing special, just a guy out there on the roster. Because the last GM sucked, and the current GM well....jury's out....Darrius Slayton is never going to be anything other than just a guy. Lather, rinse, repeat.
This team lacks talent. Anybody good needs not be afraid of this team. The talent on this team sucks. IDC that they play for the good guys, they're not good enough. You got maybe 8 good players and 45 guys just taking up space.
I’m not going crazy blaming the coaching for games like today’s because they just don’t have much talent. I don’t like the job they’ve done this season but after last season where I thought they did a great job I can’t sit here and say they forgot how to coach. I was hopeful that they would have better talent this season and close the gap on the teams ahead of them but obviously that gap is still pretty big. When we walked out of MetLife at halftime of week one my brother and I both knew this was going to be a rough season.
