It is so simialr to when the Giants beat the Vikings in the playoffs. The Jones naysayers got real quiet. It reminded me of Giants fans who wanted Eli Manning gone before the first Super Bowl run. Those guys disappeared, only to return 4 years later, only to disappear again until the very end of Eli's career. It's almost like people stop posting when their opinions are hard to justify. Imagine that.
Jones went deep twice in the game he injured his ACL. He did miss badly on the second deep ball. It was overthrown something I've seen anti-DJers post that DJ never does, he always underthrows the ball. lol
The first was on target, maybe a tad late, but on target. Hyatt was hit and the ball was knocked loose. And FYI, Lamar threw a ball in a game 3 or 4 weeks ago to one of his receivers deep who was hit in nearly the exact same way Hyatt was and that Raven receiver held on for the catch. Playmakers have to make plays. They just have to. It's not all on the QB.
Also, I don't like rehashing old discussions. The 'DJ hasn't shown anything for 5 years' claim keeps rearing its ugly head. I'm certain Schoen and Daboll would highly disagree with that statement if it was said to them. They've seen things with DJ and that's why he's still around.
I'll agree, this year was a disaster, but it was a disaster for everyone. OL, defense was bad earlier in the year, WRs and Barkley made a fair number of bounce it off the hands plays that turned into picks. And yes, DJ wasn't good either. Hard to imagine anyone being good under the circumstances.
My concern isn't his knee, but is he shell shocked on a more permanent basis from the bad OL play. He looked that way in the two games before the knee injury. That does concern me.
To me, the anti-DJ commentary is just noise. It's been around since he was drafted. Same with Eli before. Until Schoen/Daboll clearly state DJ isn't the starter, he still is. And quite frankly, I'm not convinced the Giants will draft a QB either. I think they will do their due dilligence and figure out what the best path forward is. But that might mean going a different direction this draft and signing a different low cost vet QB. It might. There's too many areas of need to not consider that other scenarios.
