This is a report from a credentialed and credible news source telling what he heard from his sources at the combine. Further to his credibility, he labeled it as "rumor". Sorry if you do not like the report, but it is newsworthy and we will be discussing it in this thread. If you do not like it, you are free to not participate in the thread.
As for the Giants I have already stated they're drafting a QB and I said it makes sense. To say "they are not all in on Jones again is plain BS. Tommy D. is the only other arm on the team and they will need arms for camp if Jones is not ready, yes it make sense but the vultures are at the door with every BS rumor they can think of. Any QB , any one drafted by the Giants no matter where he is taken will be the next Franchise QB to many of the Jones haters and as soon as Jones looses a game they will calling for his head, hell I'll bet they say screw that and want to start the rookie right away!
That's not click bait. That is every body at the combine. GMS, FO people, Etc. telling reporters that the Giants are in the QB market. They are doing all the due diligence on all the QBs and trade up options etc. They are having meetings with all the top QBs. It is being widely reported that the buzz among NFL teams is that the Giants are the team most likely to trade up for a QB. Factual stuff like that is happening.
Do you think it's possible the NYGs feel DJs injury history is too risky to be able to count on him long term and want to draft his eventual replacement? Nobody, not even the NY Giants know what the actual draft plan will be yet. It's too early and lots of moving parts are still moving around and nobody knows how the actual draft shakes out. FA hasn't even happened yet.
Every team has a plan A, B,C and D. For you to say or think that they only want to draft a back up QB is just as much speculation on your part as anybody else's speculation.
You are passionate about the topic and I appreciate that. But It's OK to recognize the possibility that the NYGs are planning for the contingency of moving on from DJ or trying to upgrade from DJ if they think they can. It is entirely plausible and possible. Maybe the NYGs don't think they will be drafting this high again and see this as their chance? Nobody knows for sure what the future holds.
And yes it is a topic for discussion. And yes. If Rich Eisen reports that the exact words he heard from multiple sources is that the NYGs have (and I quote) "buyers remorse", that is a report from a credible source giving us the exact quote he heard from two sources.
That is a news report and that will absolutely be a topic of discussion among NYG fans. I think what is making you angry is that we don't know if anybody inside the building said those words. My guess is not. My guess is the words "buyers remorse" is not from people inside the NYGs building.
That does not make the report click bait. It's still a valid report about how the NYGs seriousness about QBs in this year's draft is being perceived. If the perception among other Teams FO and GMs etc. is that the NYG are "done" with DJ or are trying to move on and find a replacement and upgrade, that is newsworthy and Giants fans have a right to know that.
