Yes, Lawrence has played more games than Jones over the last 3 years and has more TD passes and yards thrown, but comparing their first 48 starts is interesting to see how close their numbers are.
Jones' contract is a bargain compared to what these other QBs are getting. I don't think Jones deserved $40M per yer and I certainly don't think Trevor Lawrence deserves $55M per year.
One can easily argue he regressed in 2023.
Jones has 40 interceptions in 60 games (0.66 per game) vs. Lawrence 39 interceptions in 50 games (0.78 per game). Prorated for 60 games, it equals 47 interceptions
Jones has 46 fumbles in 60 games (0.76 per game). Lawrence has 33 fumbles in 50 games (0.66 per game). Prorated for 60 games, it equals 47 fumbles.
Of the 46 fumbles by Jones, 24 were lost. Of the 33 fumbles by Lawrence, 21 were lost.
Pretty amazing considering Jones has been sacked 179 times in his career compared to 94 times for Lawerence.
Tell me again. Who is a turnover machine?
