This is a Daniel Jones thread. Not a Daboll thread. Not a defense thread. So yes the discussion will be about Jones. But let’s address your concerns. Jones did not get the offense set for the two point conversion. That’s not on the coach. Execution of the play is on the QB. The defense held the Steelers out of the end zone for the majority of the game. The defense got the offense the ball twice late in the. 4 th with a chance for the offense to tie the game. The QB fumbled when he failed to properly set the protection. The QB threw the game sealing interception when he sailed a pass over the RBs head. Could the rest of the team have done better, of course they could but if you want to be a QB in this league you have to perform when the pressure is on. Jones repeatedly has failed in pressure situations. He wasn’t good enough again last night.
Feel free to respond with a “what about…” post deflecting the blame. And as the last supporter of Jones left, make sure to turn the lights out on this thread when you’re done.

No one is ignoring anything. We have threads questioning Banks and his effort. Threads calling out Daboll and Schoen. We have a thread about trading Dex. This thread is about Daniel Jones. Not about anyone else. But whenever Daniel Jones sneezes you come running in to wipe his nose. Jones deserves the criticism he is getting. But you have to ride in like you’re huis personal white knight to defend him by listing any and every excuse available to defend him. Jones has run out of rope. He’s used up every excuse. It’s time to rip the band aid off. He is not a quality QB in this league. Pointing that out is not being subjective. That’s an objective look at his body of work. Did you hear Aikman or Buck defending Russel Wilson's time in Denver? No. Because it doesn’t matter how bad things were around him. Wilson owns it. It’s now always a part of his career. Jones struggles for 6 years are who he is. He isn’t getting better. He is who he is.
Calling him an easy out is ridiculously absurd. Is there another QB in the league that gets defended like this? He’s the QB. No training wheels allowed anymore. He can’t ride the bike. It’s that simple. Jones doesn’t set the protection properly. Strip sack. Must be the Oline. Jones overthrows the receiver for an interception. Must be the receiver. Delay of game penalty. Must be the coaches. It is never his fault in your eyes. You will always find a way to deflect and defend him.
No one is saying everything is Jones fault but he is the biggest part of the problem right now. He has an average Oline. He has weapons. He has coaching. But there is still no improvement in his game.

Jones did a lot well in that game. The problem he had last night was just awareness of the situation at hand

The 2 sacks he took. Let’s start there. The protection was bad. Jones was under pressure right away. But let’s not make a negative play worse. By understanding that they were already in field goal range. Jones should have just threw it away. Instead he gets to run and eats the loss. And to make it worse he did it again on the next play.

The not moving the TE to the strong side to chip Watt is also on Jone

The INT at the end of the game was just as bad. That pass regardless should have never been thrown. Even if it was completed it was for a minimal gain and a good 15-20 seconds would have been lost for a minimum gain. Just bad bad bad decision making by a veteran Quarterback.

To the positive side. He did get the ball out fast early and kept them on schedule setting up 3rd and short. Jones problems were consistency and bad decisions at critical times on the game.

OMG thank you CTGiant. This guy has been so annoying for so many years with his schtick. ANY time you critique Jones, here this dude comes with the excuses or deflection. EVERY TIME. He's gotta be related to Daniel Jones, because it has been years of this dude specifically. 

Everybody else is off this train, except the ONE person that can't let it go.

To be fair to Jones, both OTs were terrible in that game. Hubbard is not a legit starting LT but it looks like he will be the guy going forward, which tells us just how terrible Ezeduu and Neal are.

The problem for Jones is that earlier in the season, when the protection was there, he wasn't overly impressive with the exception of a few games.

Some of Jones' completions against the Steelers were elite throws, he continues to flash elite ability, but he hasn't put it all together and he is running out of time.

CT you couldn't be more spot on and I can't even begin to say how many posts I've written and then deleted rather than respond to Big Red's posts.

At least we can all agree that it's not just Jones that's to blame for this poor football. But the QB is the face of the team, he's making 160 million, he was the 6th pick so he gets the praise and the blame. He's also the one constant going back 6 years so much easier to target him than a GM or coach who is no longer here.

It's time to cut ties with him. By the time the Giants have all the holes fixed and have the support Jones needs he'll be an old man...

I think the behavior associated with diehard Jones fans as always existed among a segment of every fan base. But you are right, we notice that behavior more readily now because of the internet.
