Myth:
1.the running back position is of little value and not nearly as important as an edge rusher.
2. Eli is immobile...he has a superb ability to move in the pocket, avoid the rusher and Intuit the open passing Lane.
I don't think he's lost that skill, the last few years they've come from him around the ends and up the middle, there's been no place for him to step up into
Dan Marino was the best I ever saw, Eli is not far behind. It is a skill by the way, did I always thought Phil Simms was lacking
3. This Edition can't compete. Of course it can, a lot of things have to go right but this team can go very deep. And if they make the playoffs I'm not going to want to lineup against saquon and Eli when the money's on the table
4. Jason Garrett is a bad coach and simply a tool of Jones. In the New York Giants storied career they've had something like two teams go 13 and 3. It is a remarkable achievement.
You can lose in the NFL with good coaching but you can't win with anything but good coaching. Garrett took a very bad football team to a 13 and 3 record only 2 years ago. It was a team with a rookie quarterback of modest talent and a horrible defense. It had a superb offensive line and a wonderful running back. Right away that supports the fact that running backs are important but it also supports the contention that the Garrett is a very very good coach. And year after year that team over achieves.
5. Brett Favre is the greatest quarterback of all time. I have heard that too often, once, surprisingly by John Madden a man I have enormous respect for. Brett was never even the best among his peers having played in the time of Tom Brady Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers. He was the opposite of Eli who saved his worst for the big moment and as far as I'm concerned was not money. It is one Super Bowl appearance he was about as effective as goth last year. The only reason they win that is Parcells head up set New England and the Packers had some guy named the rocket who we turned around three kicks for TD's. I saw a fob on a Monday night football game, played at the eve of his father's death. He was perfection, the game could simply not be played any better. It was testimony to one of the finest arms the game has ever seen. He was a very very good quarterback, that's not my gripe, it is a myth though that he was one of the best to ever play
