My slow decent into madness continues. Part NY Giants induced and part kitchen renovation induced, the two do not go together well. We are in the final stages of near completion on a job that started Aug first. We are at a stage they call optimistically the Punch List. The origin of this name is unknown but most think it comes from hole punchers and ticking off last things to be done before a job (usually construction) is completed. For example you might look at my new kitchen cabinets and say surely they need handles or door pulls? Naturally I have the box right here... But Sir no holes.
It's been going like that or not going like that for a while now, the new rules about Code and electricity something was lost in translation between my Chinese head electrician and the Spanish guy looking confused right now in my kitchen. Every day I make coffee in my bathroom-- I can't take this anymore, I am on a razors edge and therefore look towards my trusty favorite sports franchise to give me at least a couple hours a week of happiness...
Pat Shurmurgate... will it continue? Wow this guy is getting it! Will reporters press DJ about who called the "great call" on third and long. The fact that DJ called it a great call or good idea indicates to me it was the coaches original call... which would be fine except Pat lied about it..and that showed incredible weakness as a head coach and in my view Is A Fireable Offense!!! The press is treading lightly here and I do not know why. If the Giants fall to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, Shurmur would move himself into eighth place for worst coaching record in NFL history. He is currently in 10th place with a .303 winning percentage.<---
It's so frustrating to preview these games explain exactly what Beltcher has to look out for with exclamation points and warning warning*** and still the Giants were oh so surprised by the Cards motion offense. As Big Blu View put it: --rookie coach Kliff Kingsbury utilized pre-snap movement, motion, and fake jet sweeps to displace the linebackers from executing their run fits at a high level, while forcing the secondary defenders to also second guess themselves. It also doesn’t help that the Giants provided a favorable box for the Cardinals to explore through rushing the football; according to NextGenStats, Edmonds did not have a single rush into an eight-man box or more throughout the game.
Entering The High & Tight Phase--
I think we are going to be hearing a lot more about how Danielle can protect the football better- he holds the ball too low for sure and too long. He's not just throwing the ball into the ground when the screen pass is not there or throwing it out of bounds correctly instead of forcing the issue. It's so funny that those two attributes are Eli Manning Specials, no one threw the ball more into the ground or knew the grounding rules better than Eli!! He' mastered that because of terrible line play and folks that line was awful! My wife kept saying to me during the game I wander if Eli is thinking ' there you go rook that's what it's like to play with this O line...' I do wonder about that- What Is Eli Thinking? And Why has Eli not personally tought Danielle how to throw the ball away? Could there be a better teacher of that aspect of the game?
Bad News Keeps Coming-- Two Deep safeties Again Befuddles Giants--
Cardinals discovered Giants QB Daniel Jones’ kryptonite, Patrick Peterson says
Peterson says he Cardinals discovered a weakness in Jones’ game that they could exploit, long before Sunday’s 27-21 Cardinals victory at MetLife Stadium.
“We saw that he has some trouble with that two-shell [coverage] against New England,” Peterson told NFL Network’s Kim Jones after the game. “And we tried to not resemble the same game plan, but give him some of those same looks because he had trouble with it 10 days ago.”
“Just close the windows, the middle of the field, and give him some confusing looks,” Peterson said.
Thanks jerk! now we have a real problem. This Peterson has told the whole league that if you close up the middle of the field Danny Dimes is done for and he's right to a degree.. it's not because of some Danny fault it's the lack of receiver quality on the outside.. there is no outside receiver threat really-- I think this is a receiver issue not a Danny Dimes who cannot throw into the corners issue. This though will balloon in the way that Dak Prescsott had to deal with... we can only put this theory to bed by throwing some deep balls that are actually caught. And some out patterns, curls, enough with the crossing stuff.
It's so distressing to have 10 days to prepare and we get this result. Both from our side and the Cards, we had ten days to fix a problem from the Patriot game and we didn't... That's on the coaches and that problem- throwing against two deep bedeviled Eli as well so the common denominator here is Shurmur's Offense--- it really is El Stinko.
Punch List For Pat
I'm going to complete this Review in Two Parts because obviously my Kitchen disaster is overwhelming my conscious right now but he General idea is A NY GIANT PUNCH LIST-- Lets come up with a few things we need to finsih off (to Code) before we can win a football game again. A short punch List For Pat.
Oh and in part 2 we will meet up with an old west gunslinger don't worry I've got just the guy in mind for Danny Dimes... Someone who did pull off a Last Stand:
Early in the morning of June 27, 1874, Adobe Walls, Texas a combined force of some 700 Comanche, Cheyenne, Kiowa, and Arapaho warriors, led by Comanche Chief Quanah Parker and Isa-tai, attacked the buffalo camp. The 28 men, including Bat Masterson, took refuge in the two stores and the saloon. Despite being dramatically outnumbered, the hunters’ superior weapons repelled the Indian assault. After FOUR DAYS of continuous battle, about 100 men arrived to reinforce the post and the Indian warriors soon retreated.
... You wouldn't think a man in this position would wind up a sportswriter in NYC covering boxing would you?... Bat Masterson will be our time warp friend as we help dear Danny Dimes earn back his pride. You don't go down Detroit way and NOT get into a fistfight. That's about the crux of it... leave your six shooters behind... this particular battle will be decided in a bare knuckled fashion. To Be Continued...~stoney
