Every Giants fan is disappointed with losing. I am very disappointed with this. Only one playoff appearance (2016) since winning Super Bowl 46. It's been tough to watch and stomach.
Daniel Jones has given me hope for the future, though. He is proving the Giants right for taking him no. 6 overall. He 100 percent needs to improve his ball security. The fumbling is a problem. But he is one tough son of a gun. He has thrown for over 300 yards, 4 TD and 0 INT in two of the last three games. He can throw the football. He stands tall in the pocket, looking down field to make things happen. He can take off and run for a big first down. He has to get better feeling the pressure and holding on to the football. But there is a LOT to like about Daniel Jones.
But this wasn't a one year fix when Gettleman took over in late December of 2017. The Giants have a lot of areas on this football team to improve. Just got to hope they spend wisely in FA and continue to draft well. They need more talent and better coaching, absolutely. Shurmur gives me no confidence he is the right man for the job.
2020 is a big offseason for the Giants. The team needs more talent, regardless of who the coaches are. But there are some key pieces here to build around on both sides of the ball. And most importantly, it appears they may have found their franchise QB to replace Eli Manning. That is not easy to do.
