Did you see that Winston's last pass for the Bucs was a pick-6 (interception for TD), a fitting end to his failed career with Tampa Bay. Winston might get a shot with another team next year and compete for a starting job. But if B.Arians couldn't fix him, probably no one can.
I would think that Tannehill is returning to the Titans. Yeah, where will Dalton end up? He won't be handed a starting job. If the Chargers draft a QB in round 1, maybe Rivers begins the season as the starting QB and will be replaced during the season--Rivers is all washed up now like Eli.
The C.Newton situation will be interesting to watch. If the Panthers move on from him, someone will have an opening (a starting job) for Newton.
I don't see Eli as a realistic fit anywhere. No one is handing Eli a starting job, and since he doesn't want to be a back-up, he will probably just retire.
Big Ben returns to the Steelers probably for his final season. The Steelers are tough to figure out--I don't know if they are sold on Rudolph. If not, the Steelers will soon be in the market for a starting QB.
Josh Rosen will be interesting to watch too. Do the Dolphins take a QB in the 2019 draft or do they give Rosen a chance?
In the draft, we are looking at 4 first round QBs? Burrow, J.Eason, Tua, and Herbert? What about Fromm from Georgia?
The Pats are interesting, too. Brady is declining. Do the Pats believe in Stidham? Will the Pats draft a QB in the first round of the 2019 draft? Perhaps they move up in the draft to take a QB they like?
Yeah, I forgot about Rosen. Gotta wonder if he will amount to anything? Do the Fins even bring him back if they draft one of those first round QBs?
BRady's guy, McDaniels, is probably headed elsewhere. Brady could look at this as a possible opportunity to maybe finish in a warm weather place, change of scenery. THe LA Chargers definitely need a spark/draw. They prob won't be able to grab one of the better QBs in this draft. But they aren't that far away personnel-wise.
Arians is like a current day George Allen. He doesn't care how old you are he'll bring you on board. While he doesn't stay away from youthful players like Allen, he is not afraid of wheeling somebody that's older out there. I could see Brady, Eli, and Rivers all as fits. I don't think Arians wants to coach that long, so unless he has a sure thing coming out of college, he prob doesn't want to deal with a project. Heck, they might try Cam Newton, too.
What direction do the Raiders go? You know Gruden wants a QB, but can they trade enough pieces to get one? We'll know if Tua goes into the draft or not Monday (gotta figure he would......but you never know).
I would be stunned if Brees didn't stay with the Saints if he still plays. If the Saints win a Super Bowl.....I could see Brees hang it up.
This will be a compelling offseason........
