the infatuation with WRs is maddening to me

I am sick of reading that the Giants need to add at least one more receiver. They are FINE at WR. You know where they are not fine, where they are actually terrible? The offensive line. You know how effective an offense will be if the offensive line is terrible? Zero. Even if you have great WRs and good RBs and a good QB, if the line stinks you will end up with an inconsistent offense that gets shut down by good defenses. Sound familiar? Yes, that's been the Giants offense in recent years while the line has been horrible. In particular, the tackles have been terrible for years now. It is imperative for the Giants to improve their offensive line. They've signed a backup tackle in free agency, not a starter. Since Ereck Flowers was drafted in 2015, the Giants haven't drafted an OT (I don't count the throwaway 7th round pick last year on George). There is no way they can skip on drafting an OT this year with the 4th and 36th picks. It just can't be done. Going into 2020, they can't have Nate Solder and Cam Fleming as their starting OTs. That would be even worse than the OTs they've had the last 8 years.
So, back to my subject line: wide receivers. I keep reading about how they need to add a WR in free agency with whatever money they have left, and that they need to draft a wide receiver fairly high. My response is: why? They are fine at WR. Sterling Shepard, Golden Tate and Darius Slayton make a very good group of receivers. Certainly more than enough to win with if the line and running game were good. They just re-signed Corey Coleman, which I like. I've liked him since the Giants first got him two years ago. Extremely fast receiver who can make plays and take the top off the defense (again, if the QB had time to wait for that pattern to develop). They have a few young guys from last year's training camp back to compete for the 5th receiver spot. So.....why do they need another receiver?? They don't. To me it would be a luxury, much like drafting a RB at #2 overall when the rest of the team is rotten to the core and in need of an overhaul. RB was the wrong pick two years ago, and adding more receivers would be the wrong pick now. FIX THE OFFENSIVE LINE!
