I was really high on darnay holmes through the draft process. He was another "my guy". I had him almost every mock draft i did and I did a million of them lol. I was banging the table for a slot cb and Darnay holmes was my one of my favorite guys who I thought would fit the bill.

I had 3 full pages when i search my thread containing posts with the name darnay holmes in it. lol

I was liking him since early january way before any of the draft gurus out there and I'm shocked we actually picked a couple of my guys this year, as It so rarely happens. lol So forgive my excitement. I'll calm down in a few days I'm sure.

Darnay Holmes was coming off a high ankle sprain for the first half on his 2019 college season. He missed the first two games and then played through the injury.

So his stats and game tape were likely better in 2018 and late 2019 versus early 2019. That Washington State Game cut up on youtube was his second game back from the high ankle sprain. It was more than likely not his best game due to that.

UCLA still felt comfortable enough with him to put him 1 on 1 in man coverage virtually all game long. Not sure how much the injury was still affecting him at that point but you have to think at the very least he was still rusty.

There were question marks that Holmes had to answer at the senior bowl. By all accounts he did well at the senior bowl.

In the 4th round, you take your shots. I love how feisty and aggressive Darnay plays. I'm excited to see what he can do in Blue.

Day 3: New York kicked off Day 3 by making a great move and taking Darnay Holmes 110th overall. He was 86th on the PFF Big Board, and while he is short with poor arm length, he has the tools teams should have taken a chance on in the second or third round. Holmes had a down year in 2019, seeing his PFF coverage grade drop from 80.3 in 2018 to 61.8, which had a negative impact on his draft stock. But the Giants were the beneficiary of it — they got great value at a valuable position.

Ok so maybe we're overdoing it with darnay holmes a bit, but It's hard not to be excited for this kid. The kid is so easy to root for and he appears to bring a lot tot he table:

There was a recent article about Hall of Famers who know Holmes and are very convinced that he's going to be a good NFL CB. I know Dion Sanders is quite high on him, as is Aeneas Williams. A couple of guys who really know what they're talking about regarding DB play, and they have seen a ton of promise in Holmes. I think Carnell Lake has taken an interest in him too, and he's impressed. The consensus among those guys is that Holmes was an absolute steal in the fourth round.

The last time Daniel Jones threw for three TD in a game: December 22, 2019. Not all blind squirrels find their nut.

Just read that same article, I think. Carnell Lakes son played with Holmes at UCLA.
