The draft is over. Golden gets an UFA tender witch would pay him about 5.22 million and if he signs elsewhere before I believe July 22nd the Giants get comped. The Giants also signed 1 from Austria and 1 from Canada. What this tells me along with his press conference, how he drafted, where he drafted from and what he is telling his coaches
Judge seems to be himself but also has a lot of Belichek and Sabin in his program. No nonsense, work hard, keep your mouth shut and head down and work. Preaching to his staff to teach, and find a way to get to every single player they have so no one gets left behind. I have never in my life heard a coach say that. Most coaches move on from players that just are not getting it. In judges opinion that’s on him and his staff. Everyone can learn. We as coaches have to find a way to get that one player up to speed. In other words. He wants all his players mentally ready to play. What does that mean? Well I think it means everyone on the field has to no what they are doing. What’s the heck is going on. That is something that I remember from Parcells camp. A sub par athlete that understands his assignments and knows where to be in every situation that comes his way is in a better situation to make a play then the best athlete on the field that doesn’t understand what he is doing.
If you watch Patriots football week in and week out. Those players are always in situations to make plays. They are not perfect but you can tell that week in and week out they know the game plan and are usually in the right position. We see players leaving the Patriots and getting a big payday and do absolutely nothing. Why? Because Belicheck and his staff understands each player. What they can and can’t do. And are put in situations that they can excel in.
I leaned years ago to stay away from Patriots players in fantasy football because they will do unheard of numbers in one game and won’t even set foot on the field the fallowing week. Now I understand why. Belicheck and his staff found something that that particular player did well and the other team struggled in defending that.
By finding these unknown players late in drafts and u drafted free agents is a common thing in New England. And we are seeing that in NY now. What that tells me is this Judge guy doesn’t fallow suit. He does what he knows. Keep your mouth shut, head down and work. His staff will fallow suit and players will fallow in line. No stone is left unturned and these players even the ones we are like WHO? Will make plays.
I bet you this team and future teams will win games and if they do lose. It will be close. I have a feeling that each and every member of this team from Judge all they way down to the kickers will be well prepared mentally and physically understanding everything they need to do Monday-Sunday each and every day, every minute and every second.
Judge didn’t have his dog or his family during the draft. Why? Because NO interruptions!! Daddy has to go to work!! So he goes to a hotel during the draft where dogs were not allowed and put his head down and worked. Between locks he was working. Seeing how things were falling into place. Players that would fit his program mentally and personality wise. Can they take his style of coaching. Hard, long days, you always can do better approach. Even if you did a textbook play. It can be better. Do it again type of coaching. Belicheck learned it from Parcells and Judge brings it with him from Belicheck
