This was literally a 3 minute lookup, no effort at all.
Opinions are important, but as a rule of thumb, you should try at least putting some small effort to determine if you are making a valid point....
As for the article you posted from 11/22/19. His teammates called him out for lack of hustle, that article came out 2 days before we returned from the bye week so its safe to say Baker being called out was maybe around that last game before the bye on 11/10. Here is the last paragraph of that article - "How Baker responds to being dressed down may not only define what remains of his rookie season, but where he stands on the roster entering the 2020 season."
Now here is an article from after the season ended claiming Baker to have been one of the most improved Giants rookies during 2019. It lists stats from the last 6 games of the season, which interestingly enough all came after the bye.
Here are some excerpts from it:
"The 22-year-old defensive back looked like a completely different player when the Giants returned to action in Week 12, and he more than held his own for the remainder of the season."
"Baker was one of the best corners in football down the stretch, per Pro Football Focus (PFF), and he saw a massive improvement in coverage."
"Baker’s post-bye passer rating allowed is admittedly a little high, but his 48.5 completion percentage allowed is on-par with some of the league’s elite corners."
So now going back to that last paragraph from the article posted just before we returned from the bye.....to me at least, it looks as if he responded to being called out by his teammates with some solid play to end the season.
In regards to his play, he certainly improved down the stretch in 2019 and I still have hope for the guy (3 draft picks used to get him). Hopefully this whole robbery issue is false and it lights a fire in him. I will be the first guy to cheer him if he has a good season and hustles. The NFL is to hard to half ass it. The Giants need him to work out in order to be a better team and that's what's it's all about, right?
