For that to happen the Giants would have to be like the 1999 Rams. They would come in with no expectations but a very good young core (which they do have on offense) and the offensive line would have to perform much better than last year. Of course what would really drive it is if Daniel Jones took a huge step up in play. Their defense isn't very good, but if it could be solid enough to not blow the big leads that the offense would provide, then it could happen, but the offense would have to really shake the league up. Barkley running for 1,500 yards, Jones throwing for 4,000 yards and over 30 touchdowns, the receivers all staying healthy. The team would strike quick in every game, taking sizeable leads while the defense would benefit from the opposing offense having to be one dimensional in playing catch up. That's what it would take.
Not even getting into jones throwing for 41 td’s vs 13 int’s , and Barkley equaling Faulk -1381 rushing yards - 5.5 a carry and 7 td;s 87 receptions, 1048 , 12 yards a reception. - 5 td’s also where is there first team lt - like Orlando pace was for the rams.
Your comments on Shepard are on point. Shepard is 1 concussion away from retirement. In fact, he should probably retire right now. I don't ever recall a player being out as much due to concussions. If he wants to live to a semi reasonable age without CTE, he should retire.
