LoL Eli played in the most unfriendly qb system ever designed. Then you pair it with terrible olines and he had to guess what a wr saw in coverage a lot earlier than he should and ended up what appeared to be making bad decisions. This is exactly what I knew people were going to do, analyze the numbers without context.
Eli’s interceptions decreased a ton once he changed system but the team around him was terrible.
Name one legit oline man after 2013?
Other than ObJ who else did he have?
Running backs before Barkley?
TE? Manning had back to back 30+ TDs in 2014 and 2015 with just OBJ.
The team was atrocious but Manning didn’t have nearly as many turnovers after gilbride left. Jones was qb in Shurmur’s offense his system is way more friendly than gilbrides and now he’s getting coached by a guy that made dak into a pro bowler. The circumstances are in favor of DJ but he’s been terrible. He was missing wide open receivers yesterday. He’s a nice guy and I wish him success but I think his confidence is shot and I can’t see him coming out of this. We have a legit chance of going 1-15.
It was the system that Eli played that caused his turnovers? What? Eli early on would thrown lame duck, after lame duck sometimes. Did you even watch him play? It had zero to do with the system. He would throw floater after floater that would sail over the receiver and be intercepted by a safety playing back. Then he would do some kind of stupid shuffle throw while being sacked that would go right into a defenders hands. Then there was the classic Eli puts his arm back to throw, and the ball would slip out for a fumble. System? I'm sure Gilbride taught him that one right?
The Giants lost yesterday badly because the whole team sux'ed with the exception of Gano. Blaming yesterday on any one person is dumb. It was a team wide failure.
