One more thing: Did any of you guys see Tampa last week when they were on the National TV?
That was my first chance to see Wirfs. OMG. He is absolutely huge. He's bigger than I rememberer. What an anchor!
My Lawd... one penalty but he looked great in uniform. Played impeccably I ask again Dave Gettelman
WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!!!!!
They knew that Tristan Wirfs was an absolute stud. Why didn't the Giants?
We Are Not even ranking the top draft tackles any more the difference is just so large. Someone needs to step up and be held accountable!
Sick Of The Lies... No Hype in camp meant BAD NEWS~~~~~ The fact that he had to go against some good players is called that's the NFl bub.. For Judge to use that as an excuse is miserable. I'm so sick of double talk and lies from these Giants just say it>.. SAY IT the cat better play his as off or he's bechched at this point! It's gotten that bad. A No 4 pick for this... ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Dave Gettleman get your bags packed! The better Wirfs plays, the more out the door you are! And that's Mara's brown tipped loafer that's striking your posterior in case you were wondering.
YOU BLEW THE DANNY PICK BY CHOOSING HIM TOO HIGH
YOU BLEW THE OFFENSIVE TACLE PICK OUTRIGHT.
What Wirfs was at Iowa, an athletic, dominant right tackle who shut down opposing edge defenders with ease, is exactly what he’s been through the first four weeks of his NFL career. Despite being thrown into the fire as a Week 1 starter in his rookie season, and facing the likes of Cameron Jordan and Joey Bosa, Wirfs has been one of the best tackles in the NFL so far this year.<--- Humm that's weird.
With four career games now under his belt, Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs is proving to be the real deal. The former Iowa Hawkeyes star and No. 13 overall draft pick continues to impress week in and week out, performing more like a seasoned veteran than a rookie.
Entering Week 4, Wirfs had allowed just a 5.9% pressure rate on his true pass sets, ranking 21st among all tackles, despite going toe-to-toe with some of the league’s best pass-rushers. However, with two-time Pro Bowl defensive end Joey Bosa and the Los Angeles Chargers coming to town, the stage was set for Wirfs’ toughest challenge yet.
But the rookie did not disappoint. Bosa was held in check throughout the game, managing just one tackle and zero sacks in the Chargers’ 38-31 loss to the Buccaneers. Offensively, Tampa Bay gained 489 total yards, with Tom Brady passing for 369 yards and five touchdowns while Ronald Jones led the team in rushing with 111 yards (5.5 average).
Afterward, the former NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year acknowledged he had a tough time going up against Wirfs.
“He’s a good player, and he’s gonna be a great player,” Bosa said.
