"11.
Giants
Kyle Pitts
TE, Florida
Whether it was injuries early in his career or drop issues of late, Evan Engram has been inconsistent. While free agency and trades could change things, the focus for now with pick No. 11 for New York should be finding more answers on offense and Pitts has the ability to be a difference-maker. He’s a versatile tight end that can play all over the formation and provide a mismatch for the offense with his size, length, and ball skills."

I’m just afraid Pitts will not help our run game. I understand he has a frame he can easily add 20 pounds too. But most of the time receivers and TEs don’t add to much weight because they just can’t move the same and it hurts them in other areas. I would still seek WR help on the outside. That’s where this offense needs the most help. Waddle, Smith or Chase. One of them should be there. Actually I did a mock with the Giants taking Waddle round 1 and Marshall round 2 giving us 2 young studs at receiver for years to come and Eubanks at TE round 6.
If the Giants end up trading Engram I’m wide open to Pitts. But using a 2 TE set with Engram and Pitts is supposed to be a run heavy look will be just like running 4 receivers. Not ideal. That’s why the Giants struggle running the ball. In 22 personnel. 2 TEs and 2 WR it’s actually 11 personnel with Engram because of his lack of solid blocking. Just imagine Pitts and Engram? Makes very little sense. I understand that Pitts can develop too. And upside is the key.
Here me out for a minute. What do you think will help our run game more? An outside receiver that is a threat will force defenses to play 2 safties back instead of stacking the box to stop Barkley. A TE will never do that. It actually may hurt our run game. If Pitts is that dangerous he needs to stay inside not outside. Why? Because that will require a LB to play under and a saftey to play over. It still doesn’t matter if they can’t run the ball. The TE and the Run game work hand in hand. Adding Pitts really won’t help our run game much.
