I just read the Eli criticism and while I realize that it's been discussed here, it's made worse by the selectiveness, there's no other player, or, for that matter, unit, that earns Mac's wrath. Just the man who NEVER throws anyone else onto the trolley tracks. Just the man who takes the blame when things go badly, Just the man who deflects the credit when things go well. Just the class that personifies this organization and makes us Giant fans.
I admit to a bias. I didn't want him, I'd rather lose with TC, who, to me, personified The Giants and a very proud and old fashioned organization. And oh, how unfair, that cornucopia of all-pros and probowlers that Mac had as a gift last year, what would TC have done with that.?
But I also know that my biases are ephemeral and I would have jumped on board and claimed, with a false heart, that "I always liked Mac"..."good move, it was time". But I saw an offense get better talent and go from tenth in TC's last year to 25th in '16. I saw more talent this year and I saw it still going backwards, and worse, I saw players who should have been getting better going into a premature decline. And then this SOB, who won't put down the clipboard, criticizes (and singles out for criticism) the symbol of the team and a guy who won superbowls without Mac and before Mac.
And no, it's not the criticism so much as the exclusiveness and this from a man who should be putting himself under the microscope.
Let's hope it turns. Let's hope It comes together. I'll be happy, I'll stop griping publicly, but I don't think - not that it matters to an indifferent universe - that I'm ever going to like this guy.
