Protesting while in uniform, while you are at work, is not a first amendment issue. It's a corporate ethics issue. If the team allows it, then blame the team. I do.
Individuals have not first amendment rights while on the job. They represent the company during those times.
That said, I lost much respect for Mara when he threw in with the commissioner. I have certainty that all owners were told how they were to respond. I am also certain that Kraft is seething at what he was forced to say publicly.
As for me, I can't abide by these self-serving protests. Protesting the USA is like protesting Ice Cream. If you hate the USA, move. Last night, they sat for the anthem of the USA but stood for that of the UK. So, are they good with Teresa May and all she has done etc?
Self serving protest? I’m gonna assume you and others who share your opinion are not black or a minority. No matter how often it’s said that this is a protest against social and racial injustice people still want to make it about a flag or the military. Yet you probably have no problem seeing the confederate flag displayed publicly. You know the symbol of actual treason against the USA. The flag is supposed to represent the ideals of our country which include freedom, liberty ang JUSTICE for ALL. If a portion of the citizenry don’t feel that those ideals are being applied to them equally then they have the right to be heard. Not unlike the Boston Tea Party. I’m sure there were people back then who were upset that their expected shipment of good olé English tea was dumped in the harbor because the poor folks couldn’t pay their taxes and were fed up.
