I'm not sure what you mean in your one sentence post. The Matt Stafford topic was a weird thing to bring up in the first place. No, he hasn't won a Super Bowl but he has been an excellent QB over the last few seasons and is 30 years old--not the kind of guy you release or replace. He is better than K.Cousins, who is one year younger than Stafford. As we saw, there were multiple teams interested in signing Cousins and so there would be even more interest in a QB like Stafford if he ever reached the open market.

I am comparing 4 QBs over the last two seasons. The worst stats are in bold. I have italicized the best stats. I am separating the 2016 season from the 2017 season.
Ryan was great in 2016. In 2017, the best QB out of this group was Stafford, the guy you want to release. Eli was the worst QB in 2016 AND 2017--a two year sample size. Eli is not only the worst QB out of this group but the oldest:
Cousins: 29 years old
Stafford: 30 years old
Eli: 37 years old
Ryan: 32 years old
Three of the QBs--Cousins, Stafford, and Ryan--are in the prime of their careers and their numbers reflect that. Eli is clearly on the downside of his career and his numbers reflect that.
