be signed in an article on Giants Wire! In no certain order.
1) Richie James. We seem to have enough receivers even if we stand pat and only draft one more. I believe he still fits the bill. Cheap, Punt returns, ST's, 57 catches last year on 70 attempts. Maybe we keep a spot for him. League Minimum because he will end up on another teams roster based solely on last years performance. Also familiar with our Offensive schemes. I say keep him.
2) Landon Collins. I know he is old washed up slow and useless. I disagree! I saw a guy pumped up to play for us last year when given the chance. He actually performed very well in the few starts he had. He only allowed 8 catches for 59 yards when opponents threw on him last year. He fits Winks defensive scheme and can play in multiple sets whether as a DB or LBer. Again, cheap, good leader and has some football left. I say keep him.
3) Fabian Moreau. Love his character. Only played 11 games for us but still had 66 tackles and led the team in only 11 games with 10 passes defensed. Another good veteran presence locker room guy that we could get cheap and play whatever DB role we want. Good backup and occassional starter to have. Bring him back, please! We need to draft 2 CB's and atleast 1 safety so he will add depth for sure.
4) Tony Jefferson. Like him and his versatility but if we resign Collins and Moreau not sure we have the space for him. So, if have space bring him back if we do not let him go. He is a numbers victim that could be replaced in the draft if Collins and Moreau are back in the mix.
5) Jon Feliciano. I wanted Gates back. Because we lost him Feliciano IMHO is important right now with no pure Center on this roster. Not at all comfortable with Bredeson as our Center. Guard fine but not Center. I say bring Feliciano back. Another inexpensive leader to help start if needed and teach these young IOL's that we will be drafting.
I would NOT even entertain X man, so fed up.
I would not bring back Dustin Ellis either.
But perhaps we can add Jaylon Smith, Marcus Johnson and Nick Williams to our Practice Squad. Johnson and Williams both injured and seemingly often. Jaylon did not have enough time to prove anything and when he did I was not that impressed. Maybe I am wrong?
