Dallas is loaded on the defensive side.
They have everyone back (as far as I know) on a defense that played well and they've added some important pieces - including their overall no.pick Mazi Smith who projects as a superb defensive tackle.
And if the Giants will field a strong front 5 or 7, Dallas is every bit as impressive
Imagine starting ends named DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons...that's as good as it gets and one of those studs is going to spend time over Evan. Ouch! Big advantage Dallas and maybe game deciding so.
Hankins (yep, that Hankins), Odighizuwa, Fehoko and Gholston round out the front line and help make this group among the most formidable in the game.
The experienced vet Vander-Esch returns and should be at his best and leads an excellent linebacking unit. Hybrid is the key here and I think Waller might be limited when he has guys Like Markquese Bell attached like a lampron to his hip.
The Twin Assassins', Stephen Gilmore, and Trevor Diggs, could be the best tandem of cornerbacks in the league.
Dallas's historically weak group of safeties have been alchemized: Devon Wilson, Jaylon Kearse are likely the starters for a capable group featuring the HYbrid nature that marks the whole offense.
Imagine Parons, DeMarcus Lawrence and pass rusher specialist Sam Williams on a third and five.
Hankins and Gholson as run ihibitors if Saquon threatens to break loose.
Quinn makes this a well coached group that led the league in takeaways for two years in a row.
I daydream and lay out The Giants superb offensive weapons. The thought persists , "nothing can stop this group"
And then I lay out the Dallas group...."Yikes", " they'll overwhelm Evans, Parson's is an unstoppable LT type clone and their defense is riddlesd with pro-bowl types"
balance sets in....
The Giants Do Have too many weapons.
So, I indulge myself.
Bellinger is going to be big. He's a force that's been kept under wraps. He can line up outside of Evans, chip and still get out for short completions.
Paris Campbell's going to use YAC to open them up. A hidden weapon he can kill from a running back position as well as any place on the field.
Lauded but still underappreciated the brilliance of Saquan is just starting - this man uses blocks as well as anyone I've ever seen. A defense that has to honor the deep ball and double Waller can't play 8 in the box and then Saquon can be unstoppable.
Send everyone down field and let Jones run...that alone forces zone coverage and helps.
Conclusion: as good as the Dallas defense looks, it's vulnerable to speed, scheme and a host of stars. Jones, Saquon, Waller, Jalin Hyatt, Campbell, Slayton, Bellinger...man that's good stuff - Andrew, Bredson, JWS, Glowinski, Evan....that's good enough stuff.
Our defense can be everybit as dominate as their's only, outside of Lamb and maybe Gallup they don't havethe speed to tear it down.
Plus Prescott plays for them and Jones for us.
No early turnovers and Giants win this one and they're on their way...
