I have been reading some threads here including my own and responses. Also been reading articles and listen to the radio. A ton going on the Oline and Manning. We all knew if Eli struggled they would bring up passing on Darnold and going RB. Any why not?!?! I have been saying that since March. It’s done. We can’t go back only forward.
So lost are saying the Giants line and a team as a hole are making simple mistakes in football 101. Mental mistakes and assignments especially up from. Eli not seeing the field as he should. Simple high school mentality that is taught when we played JR varsity football in high school.
Is this a good thing or bad? If it’s simple mistakes they should be easily corrected. Or are they ? Is this a sign that Gettleman blew it? Or is this a sign of coaching to come? Or is this Shurmur and his staff making things too complex and players are over thinking and making too many mental errors ? Or is it all of the above?
My gut wants to tell me that Solder was a 65,000 mistake and Hernandez has a huge jump to make from Utep to the NFL and isn’t ready yet. Manning is a step to slow in his reading the defense and setting and releasing. Ohmame is reminding us why the Giants are his 3rd team in 4 years. And why Flowers is easily the most hated player on the Giants Roster Put it together and you have a old car flying down the road with the wheels wobbling off there studs The question is can Shurmur and his staff Diagnose the problem and properly torque down the wheels or do they ignore it keep to there plan and eventually the wheels fly off the car?
I’m not a coach or assistant but Eli looked like a deer in headlights last night even when he had time to thrown a good ball. Instead he checked down. The line looked confused and had zero clue on who to block or when to double. Who to pick up or pass off. Our TEs and FB were clueless on blitz pick ups and what needed to be done. That’s a lot of work to do on top of a game plan this Sunday for another desperate team in the Texans
A very difficult schedule awaits this team that has more problems the the White House under Trump and maybe to much to overcome. The easiest thing to do is Run run pass punt like the good old days with Kent Graham
So let me ask you. Is this a good thing or bad? It’s only 2 games. That’s true and if it is that simple it should be fixable. So I’m going to say it’s a good thing
