You can watch Drew Lock's highlight tape against inferior defenses. Where he's just sitting in the pocket, has enough time to spread cream cheese on a bagel, consume it, then throw the ball.
But lets see him against a defense that is a step below an NFL defense. Alabama. This is Drew Lock at his worst.
First play of Missouri's possession in this game he throws this interception. The CB was all over his WR. Not only did he try forcing the ball in there but he shows his inaccuracy. He places the ball on his WRs inside shoulder. Bad placement.
WR runs a short 5 yard route. Drew throws an inaccurate ball to his WR that is uncatchable.
WR wide open in the flat. Skips the ball into his feet:
Lock shows his small hand problem right here. Small hands, can't hold onto the ball like a man. The ball squirts out of his hands. Easy fumble recovery by Alabama. If you watch the fumble frame by frame you will notice that the Alabma defender tackling him has both of his arms wrapped around his waist. He didn't strip the ball out of his hands. Drew simply couldn't grip the ball while being tackled.
Bad mental processing. He's not reading the defense player's positioning and his WR's route running. His WR was wide open on the shallow cross. Pressure gets him good but he could have thrown the ball right when his WR appeared open but instead he chooses to throw across his body and get hit. Double whammy.
He tries throwing without squaring his body. Thinks he can pull off a Patrick Mahomes throw and instead puts the ball behind his WR and into the dirt. If he locates the ball its a first down. 4th down instead. Mistakes like this ruin drives.
Pressure coming right up the middle in his field of vision. His WR is running a curl route on HIS right side (from his perspective). He pump fakes the ball for whatever reason and takes a safety. He could have simply thrown the ball out of bounds since his WR was running a curl route. Just throw it over his head. Refs will think its a bad throw. Loss of down but no safety. Bad mental processing. Think fast, that's the name of the game.
Throws the ball about 5 yards behind his WR on a shallow cross. REALLY lucky there was no defender in the vicinity. Could have been an easy interception:
His WR is wide open on his right side (his perspective). I don't know what this kid is looking at. He doesn't go through progressions quickly. He then looks towards the flat where his RB is, throws across the field and over his RB's head to throw the ball away. Why? Honestly what's the thinking here. If he wants to throw the ball away he has a WR on his right side. Why do you turn and throw it out of bounds going against your body? This kid has the brain of Jay Cutler the more I watch this game:
I think he just closed his eyes and threw this one. Easiest interception in this defender's life:
He reminds me a ton of Jay Cutler not only in his ability but his mental processing. He makes some wow throws down the field then he makes so many mind boggling stupid decisions. That's Jay Cutler's career in a nut shell. Jay Cutler could have one game where he looks elite then the next game throw 5 interceptions and you're thinking to youself. How the heck is this guy an NFL QB? That's Drew Lock. Jay Cutler had an entire career to show he could change his mental processing and decision making and it never changed.
