To see the Manning family, wife and all the brothers crammed into a luxury booth was a site to see. Pictures being taken Eli's wife was so happy until halftime. I noticed no Giants representative there so it's safe to say The Mannings et all are ticked off at the Giants. Yesterday Should Of Never Happened. Beside the title of Pat Shurmur's book, yesterday really should never of happened. Danny is hurt no doubt but just a little bit. He could of played but not run. A sitting duck his stat line would of dove, and the only string that is tethering Shurmur to the Giants would of been snapped. Starting Eli was a way to preserve where we are at right now with Danny not a way to win the game.
It all felt very wrong. Watching the game I was in a state of suspended pain. There was still pain but it was suspended because I saw such a beatable team on the field. No not the Giants-- The Eagles are just horrible they have so many holes... and we couldn't even beat them. Lead no lead it doesn't matter they had no receivers! They had a guy who was working in a box store and another from the XFL common' You had one viable receiver in the TE and no one doubled him?
As the game got going we noticed a few things the more the announcers said how great Eli was doing the more it became obvious he was just dinking and dunking. The TD pass a lucky spin and run without that it's just another six yard pass. It was an extraudinarily tepid game plan. Then half time and the question is Pat " does the team in the lead make any adjustments at halftime or just the trailing team makes the adjustments to catch up?" Do you do the exact same thing or try something different under the assumption that the other team is going to make an adjustment? Oh I wish someone would ask that.
Then we watched as Shurmur began to twist in the wind. Boy as the clock winds down he gets tighter than any head coach should. Studying the two head coaches was an object lesson in coaching. On the other side the Eagle coach with nothing to work with wiled his team to win through play calling. The play calling was very smart as smart as Shurmur's is stupid. The Eagles changed the pace on us and we had no answer. By using a hurried pace at times the Eagle coach massaged his team down the field even going for a 4th down from his own thirty!
Everything top to bottom handled incorrectly, the Giants are on a downslope they cannot get off of. Someone has to step up now and take control I guess it must be Tisch.
It's Matt Rhule or bust and Tisch has to tell Mara what to do. This over bloated Defensive coordinator needs to go bye bye but why start there the team will just fall apart more. The head coach who will wait and see if he finishes the season now has reached a point of insignificance. Nothing he says will be listened to by the players. Pat Shurmur is simply a loser, a losing coach, a sad sack.
If Dave G would grow a set, he would just give Pat the boot and take over the team himself for the last three games. I think back to Wellington Mara and he would of done that! He would of at least poked his head in the dressing rom and said some very pointed words (which he did a few times under Parcels) but I could see Welington actually taking control of the team for the last few games. You want respect. That's how you get it-- you put yourself on the line you show these guys how much this team means to you and your family and that you are willing to risk ridicule around the league if it helps reintroduce an once of Giant pride.
Like I said this was very tough to watch. I froze in my chair and didn't cheer once when we went up I had the exact same expression up 17-3 that i did as we began to get rolled second half. No third down conversions? No Problem... I sat as if holding a peach pit between my cheeks; utterly upright, silent, frozen with the same even keeled stoic look the same never get too up or too down. Just basically hoping plant would start to grow out of me lifting me from my chair. Gone was my fiery ironic personality. I had become Eli Manning.
“We’re a team that finds a way to lose a lot of games,” said Barkley, one of the Giants’ most important leaders. “That’s what we are as of right now, yes. That’s our team. We’re just an inconsistent football team. We find ways to lose games.”
-The Giants did not score a second-half point for the second time this season. On Oct. 10 at New England, they trailed at the half, 21-14, and lost, 35-14.
-The Giants owned the ball for just 21:59, roughly half of Philadelphia’s time of possession of 42:51. It was the Giants’ second-lowest possession time of the season (20:24 at New England).
-The Giants fell to 2-11 with their ninth consecutive loss, tying the franchise record set in the first nine games of the 1976 season.
-The Giants have lost six in a row and 10 of their last 11 games against Philadelphia. The teams meet again on Dec. 29 in MetLife Stadium.
-It looks as if the Giants lost RG Kevin Zeitler to a serious injury after he was leg-whipped by Vinny Curry in the fourth quarter. Zeitler was replaced by Nick Gates. Zeitler was on crutches in the locker room and walked out with a boot on his right foot.
-RB Wayne Gallman has dropped like a rock in a pond on the Giants’ depth chart. He has only 29 rushing attempts this season and Monday night was a healthy scratch, one of the seven inactive players, with Buck Allen filling the role of the backup to Saquon Barkley. It seems as if this coaching regime is not high on Gallman, who had 111 rushing attempts as a rookie in 2017.
Which brings us to Sunday against the Miami Dolphins in MetLife Stadium.-- What was supposed to be Eli's second win in a row taking the Giants somewhere new and different both in the standings & the draft... is instead something different. A funeral. A funeral for the coach. Dead man walking. To see pat Shurmur operate when a game matters is to know what it's like to go into war with a deranged child as your leader someone who reacts instead of leading and is easily outfoxed. Someone who goes away from hot hands and calls about as choppy and disorganized a game plan as any coach ever has. Someone who has ruined everything that was green here. The Giants running game the Giants passing game, it doesn't matter this coach has a non answer for everything. Shumur's bland retorts about another loss has become theater of the farcical-- why won't Gettleman run out with hook and take this guy out? Tough guy Gettleman? Because (here's the sycophant part) Pats's his pasty. Twisted nipples and all. Gettelman wanted lots off say and made
sure we got a manipulatable puppet instead of a true leader. Shame runs deep here. People are looking out for themselves and the products on the field is being damaged beyond repair.
There appears to be some infighting now within the organization who vs who is unclear. It might just be Chris Mara yelling at himself again. I have long held the view that the Franchise is cursed. I don't know why... what we did to deserve this.. it must of been bad... but This Franchise Is Cursed... we cannot even bring a Chaplin into the team's lockererom to pray for us correctly... Without naming any names you can find the news story but during our winning years someone prayed for the Giants that shouldn't have. Someone had been accused of you know what and the Giants actually made the correct move initially and removed him but after being cleared by three fellow priests (ahem) The Giants took him back and maybe this has led to some sort of reverse karma that has taken hold within the Giants.
I feel something directly tied to Mara is haunting the Giants and this unfortunate laying of hands by a handsy dude might be what it is. There is a darkness, an Omen like feeling to all of this and the Mara dynasty they need to regain everyone's trust. There has to be a cleansing of some sort. Fresh air is needed in the worst way. People need to be hired because they are good not because they are easily pliable. Because they follow rules. we need a Rhule breaker!
