I think the guys who are presenting the big price tags right now are being put on hold until after the draft. Even Clowney is reportedly disappointed that nobody wants to give him the money he wants. There are no high impact EDGE guys on the board really, and the ones that are there are in for a disappointing contract if they think teams are willing to pay $15 mil for a run of the mill EDGE. When Clowney does finally go, there might be some action if teams feel desperate; but, I think a lot of teams think thay can get a guy as good as these guys in the draft.
Overall, I'm a little surprised with the discipline a lot of teams have shown in FA. The contracts are not as big as I thought they would be, and nobody seems to be willing to go beyond 3 years. I think it's because the FA pickings were pretty slim this year in the first place. Miami is backloading a lot of contracts but the trend seems to be what the Giants are doing and front loading. The market breaking contracts we expected aren't falling at a rapid rate, unless you play for the 'Boys. No telling how they hope to remain under their cap in the future.
My guess is Golden wants to sign but the Giants are content going forward with or without Golden. By being patient his price continues to drop. The big contract free agents left there is a very slow market for. All teams are fallowing suit and waiting now. Things will probably slow down until the draft

I think both of their values have dropped as teams already spent their money. Clowney may have been greedy for a guy that had 3 sacks last year. Teams probably see Golden's true value as a 1 dimensional player. I've thought that edge rushers were a little over valued for a while now. Teams went and spent their money on coverage players, CB's, Safeties and LB's.

rodney27: You're right about the fumbling problem, tl65taog. I just don't think it can be fixed. He had in preseason, has it at a record pace now, and had the same problem at Duke. If he hasn't fixed it in all that time...I just don't know if he can.
