Last year I predicted the Giants were going to draft Daniel Jones. I thought they'd spend their #17 pick on him, so I was wrong to a degree!
Soooo, this year I've been analyzing the Giants moves in free agency, cap space (thinking like a GM), and really focusing on this draft class and I think I know what the Giants intend to do. Just my thoughts on this, I certainly could be wrong but here's what the Giants will do:
1) If the Giants can't find a trade partner to trade back with, and they have to select at #4, the probability they draft an OL player is basically certain. If they trade back they still most likely draft an OL player. I can't imagine they'd trade out of the top 10 so if they traded with Miami or the Chargers whoever they wanted at #4, would still be there. Who they draft at #4 is not certain, take your pick of the top 4 OL players. This player will play RT and be groomed into LT in the future.
2) Round 2 things get interesting in this draft class. This 2020 class has a lot of WR talent, but the Giants won't grab any in this round. What will help the Giants is if other teams make a run on drafting WRs, pushing another position to them. Because of the contracts of Shepard and Tate, they have to be starters coming into the season. You don't pay guys that much money to have them sitting on the bench. Furthermore, Slayton was one of the best up and coming WRs in the league last year. Those are your 3 starting WRs. You want your 2nd round pick to be a significant contributor. This draft class is NOT deep with DL talent in the front end of the draft. Not many 3-4 OLBs and EDGE players that are graded highly. Maybe you only love 1 of these guys, and the chances they are there in the 2nd round is slim. Instead the Giants have other options. Mainly FS (free safety) and Center. One of these guys will be available in the 2nd round.
3) Round 3 is hard to predict. It's hard to fathom, but their 2nd round pick is #36 overall and their 3rd round pick is #99. That's almost 2 rounds worth of players being selected (63 players) in-between those two picks. Round 3 is now in the territory of guys who are not starters this year but guys who could develop. At this point you just want to be taking the best player available.

If you think I'm wrong about my assessment, go with your gut/heart and make a mock draft to win it all! This is a fun game. We played it in the official Giants forum before it closed. It was our yearly ritual. Tons of people would join before the draft. It's just for fun, nothing is on the line.
