the probability of no season is greater than ever.
most likely that will be the case.
even thou the man whose response to the virus failed us all, and now says that athletes are in good shape so the chance of them getting it is low and then they can just get rid of it too.
so regardless of that falsity, lets talk reality.
Big10, Pac12 cancel.
SEC next. Acc to follow. and then all the smaller conferences too.
of course college players are not paid.
sure theyre holding on in hopes of a revenue stream provided by TV, bc there arent going to be fans in the stands.
but most likely, it wont happen as all college sports stops, as they're funded by football.
pro-football will also follow suit in cancelling. its just too dangerous. and if you get the virus the lasting damage to the lungs/respiratory/heart system is unknown.
of course there are those that would want to play. they would put there health at risk for wealth.
most wont.
considering that 65% of all deaths and cases are not the elderly but people 25-65 (you can google it if your a non believer) other than players, ALL coaches would be in danger, of course as their ages increase from 35-40-45 etc theyre risk increases.
so maybe football with no coaches. thatll be interesting.
so with this premise, and lets just say the season cancelled, what happens in 2021.
will college players (this years seniors) come out, base their status on their junior year.
there wont be a joe Burrows who has that tremendous year to become a #1.
will there be a draft.
will pro teams then have 2 yrs worth of "rookies".
will rosters be expanded to accommodate this.
how many veterans retire by choice or how many veterans do not have contracts renewed and therefore are out of the league 'just like that' !.
and who then would the good teams. As attrition of veterans and addition of unknown rookies shape a roster in this manner and alter rosters severely.
and not really knowing which bunch of having 2 years worth of rookies are any good.
Ill say, I root for the team, my Giants. so whomever is in that uniform has my fan loyalty.
But it will be a mess.
most likely that will be the case.
