I get it, and I'm sympathetic. I don't understand it because I've never done drugs and I can't imagine the hold, the good feeling that is worth several million a year.
But Gregory has always seemed like a good sort, even if weak-willed. And if something is victimless and done in the privacy of one owns house, you might say it's the NFL that's being intrusive and out of line.
The Cowboys Aldo Smith is another story and I think it's fair to question his reinstatement. He didn't just beat a woman, according to reports I've read, he Savaged her.
Hardy, the Pac-Man, Rolando McCain, Hollywood Henderson, Quincy Carter, several more I can't recall and now these two. It's one thing about being stuck with bad guys and trying to work with them. The Cowboy's Motif is very different; they seek out the villains, the criminals, and the druggies.
Michael Irvin -flaunting the drug paraphernalia , the drug parties and the prostitutes - and, with dozens of good guys available who can speak the language, the Network's hire him for more Millions.
Jones is a tough guy, self-made man, who must have scrapped and fought in the beginning. Somehow he makes that unadmirable and slinking down to contemptible.
He profited from a league that at least partially grew because of the concept of shared Revenue that let small Market teams compete with the Goliath's.
Took that principle and trashed it, no sharing.
I think his win at any cost and lack of Honor made the signing of La'el Collins Suspect. The man walked away from big money to sign with the Cowboys and notified potential suitors of that during the draft. I bet that somewhere there's a foreign bank account in Collin's name.
Good luck to Gregory, I hope the kid gets his life in order, plays some good football and is happy within himself. I wish Aldo Smith nothing but bad luck and failure. And I honestly hope I never see Michael Irvin and his broken syntax, Superfluous opinions and slimeball face again.
