Game two and Giant fans like what they see. Wins and losses mean nothing to this fan I just felt better watching the team. I did. It's hard to put a finger on it but there was a calmness to the coaching the formations I liked for the most part 3 tight ends yes please... the defense with the standing up and moving around I know it's things you do from weakness and all that but it's a heck of a lot more exciting! Guys seem to be getting after it we can be nasty and we can begin to get a reputation as a tough team to play. Are the Steelers gloating about grinding the Ginats to the turf... No they are just much more experienced but they know it was not easy. we did not give up.
But did Saquan. What the hell is going on. We are witnessing the melting of the persona that was touched by the hand of God- that can't be good- what is happening!! last year we went through this a million ways and this year we going to have to keep it simple-- give this guy a FB! OJ Simpson says that's what we have to do. Are things that bad that we must listen to OJ? Yes.
“the closest we’ve ever been” -- Those were Gettelman's words describing our O line- is he senile?
"Not really too concerned about the stats," Barkley said. "Got to give credit where credit is due. They have a great defensive front."
-
“No disrespect to any coaches I’ve had in the past, right now the coaches, with [running backs coach Burton] Burns and Stephen [Brown, offensive assistant], they just bring two different dimensions,” Barkley said. “The way they’ve been challenging me... and I think that’s going to translate to the football field.”
WHEN-? we have two new coaches lets see what happens this week against the Bears.
Elijhaa Penny played just four offensive snaps vs. the Steelers. Maybe i's time to triple that.
“They need to give Saquon a fullback. They need to give a running start at the line and let him break off a fullback’s block or double-team blocks. Stop with this fancy scheme crap and start hitting people.”- OJ
Simpson signed off with a bang, “Giants, you’re soft! Anybody who looks at that [film] can see how soft the linemen are. They’re not driving anyone, they’re just getting in the way.”
It's true. This new tackle he's soft as heck common get mean. He made Bud Dupre look like LT.... Common.
Establishing an effective ground game was a top priority entering the season for the Bears as well. The Bears ranked 27th in the NFL in rushing last year. Unlike the Giants The Bears actually got some run action 149 yards on 28 attempts.
First off there's that 28 again we ran across this last season we did a spreadsheet of when the Giants committed to running the ball 27+ times and guess what eventually the cat breaks one or two! You have to keep chopping the wood.No matter how dead the tree looks!
"The biggest thing we saw was guys just finishing their blocks, all across the board, from wide receivers to tight ends to us (offensive line)," Bears center Whitehair said. "And I think the biggest thing, too, is getting up to the second level. We know if we get caught up at the first level and don't get to the second level, that's where our lost-yardage plays come. We try to avoid that as best as we can. We've had some success with that this week, so we have to keep that going forward."
The Giants can learn from this-- rather than stumble and grab lets actually get second level lets finish our blocks not push people.
Whitehair feels that the Bears offensive line benefitted from quarterback Mitchell Trubisky taking more snaps from directly under center Sunday than he has in the past.<-----
"It helps with the flow of the defense," Whitehair said. "It gets them to run a little bit more. <-- This is really interesting. I never thought being under center makes a D move more but I can see it especially with motion and two backs... then with the movement comes the holes---
"We can be more aggressive on our combo blocks and then get to the second level. So I think just having the defense run a little bit more and those guys play a little bit more lateral helps us out."
Yes so for the Giants rather than run for the sidelines lets stretch the D through other methods playing under center and using a fullback lets aim at the tackle position not outside of it and even cut in after the FB block. When we have 3 TE's on one side run it to that side. And for God's sake when you see a DE like Watt dropping back RUN AT HIM!!! Please.
To Be Continued.-
