Easier said than done and we don't exactly have Ozzie Newsome at the helm but it goes without saying that the Giants need to hold a fire sale and attempt to accumulate as much draft capital as possible for the next GM. So here's my amateur attempt at trying to assign potential value to those who should be on the market.
Engram- He's not a coach killer, he's a team killer, another terrible Reese/Ross first round pick, I use to think if Sanu could yield a 2nd round pick why can't Engram. I won't allow myself to fantasize like that any longer so I'll say maybe some team is dumb enough to hand over a 4th rounder, do it! Hell do it for a 7th rounder if that's all you can get. Get him out of here! One quick post edit, be prepared for him to turn into Tony Gonzales wherever he winds up.
Golden-An occassional sack and a whole lot of nothing, an impending FA anyway, he looks really slow and stiff, but hey he did have double digit sacks last season so there might be a market for him. Let's say a 5th for Golden, more likely a 6th.
Zeitler-Still highly thought of, his contract is prohibitive, but it's not impossible they could actually get a 3rd for him.
Peppers-It will never happen because they like him, but in spite of all of his speed the guy is a box safety at best, he's also disappointed as a punt returner. Unlike Engram you don't just trade him for the sake of getting him off the team but if someone offered a 3rd rounder I'd take it.
Fleming- With key injuries at OL in the league it's not impossible that the Giants could get a 6th rounder for him.
Tomlinson-This one hurts because I really like him but in reality they're likely not going to resign him and Williams, he's worth a 2nd round pick in my opinion but given his FA status I'm not sure if that's realistic. I'd probably take a 3rd.
Tate-Maybe his TD last nigth helped his value, probably not but you never know. A good team needing a WR could offer a 4th, he's another guy who you just take whatever you can get, there's no shot he's on the team next season anyway.
Hernandez-I think this guy is a complete Jag but I get not giving up on him quite yet, but let's say a team like Buffalo who clearly needs a Guard offers a 3rd round pick? I'd jump all over it, let Slade and Lemieux be your Guards the rest of the way out.
Ryan-I'd prefer they resign him but again the mission is to accumulate draft capitlal, but I'd hold on to him unless they can get at least a 3rd round pick.
Love-He can't cover, seems like a good guy and no one wants to give up on a second year player but it's not there. I'd take a 5th for him.
