I’m not going to cut and paste his big board. But it did stop me and make me think. Picking 2 every round is almost like getting 2 first round picks. There are 10 at every position excluding kickers and punters that’s 140 players. It’s pretty remarkable who could actually be there at the top of round 2.
There have been a few threads here that get a little heated. And rightfully so. Before I write any more I just want to say I enjoy reading all of your posts. That’s what makes this fun. If we all agreed there really wouldn’t be any responses. To all of your my fellow Giants fans. Cheers
Now back to writing. The Eli Manning topic is by far the most difficult to post on. I feel half of us want him to play another 5 years and the other half want him just long enough to groom his successor and move on. Back to the draft. The draft usually goes off of supply and demand. Positions that are lacking true debth will usually see a run of player in that position. Once the top 5 or 6 players are drafted the draft will take shape. And someone truely of great value will be sitting there top of round 2
Let’s circle back to manning Me I’m a man of logic. I don’t believe in fate or luck. I believe we if we make our bed we sleep in it. Or we line the life based off of the choices we make. Some of us believe in one year at a time. Let’s put the best team we can together this year and next year will take care of itself. I don’t live that way or do I believe a team should be built that way. When do you replace to roof on your house? You have a 30 year shingle. It’s year 25. A few have been replaced over the years. Most homeowners replace there roof before it becomes a problem right? Or do you Wait for leaks and rotted wood? It’s a easy choice My point is you are in a prime position to replace your roof at a discounted rate 25-26 years in before the 30 is up. Eli has given us 14 amazing years of memories. It’s time to get your singles at a good price and ready to install them
We draft QB at 2. There seems to be more debth of the Oline then we all thought. There are 1 true top tier line talent then you can really put the next 5 or 6 tackles and 5 or 6 guards into the next row. There will be a good tackle or guard there top of round 2 for us with great value
Same goes for running back. Barkley is the guy in the first row and there is probably 11 more in row 2. We can find a great value there 2nd or 3rd round.
The only position that seems to be thin is pass rushers and cover guys. I don’t hear a ton of talk this year about pass rushers or cover guys. Luckily the Giants are ok there. Not great but ok. Areas of need for us are deep
Every year QB is rarely deep. If there are more then 2 quality QBs it’s a good QB draft. Remember guys. We have memories. Eli will be in our memories forever just like LT Sims Banks Johnson Strahans. Manning will be there too Drafting a QB doesn’t mean the end. It just means we found a great deal on new shingles and we need a new roof soon. Let’s save now and buy them
