The Bills acquire the Giants 2018 first round pick (2nd overall). In return, the Giants acquire both of the Bills 2018 first round picks (12th and 22nd overall) and the Bills second round pick (53 overall). The Giants also acquire the Bills first round pick in the 2020 draft AND the Bills first round pick in the 2021 draft.
Some of you are thinking the Bills would never do this, but this trade is comparable to what the Rams received when the Redskins traded up for the second pick in order to draft RG3. The Rams received the sixth overall pick in the first round, a second-round selection, and two additional first rounders in subsequent drafts.
In my proposed trade, the Giants are getting two additional first rounders (in subsequent drafts), and a second round pick. The same as the Rams. The Rams also received the sixth overall pick in the draft, whereas in my trade the Giants receive a lower pick (12th) and to make up for that lower selection, I'll also demand the 22nd overall pick. Thus, this trade is actually on par with the Rams/Redskins trade. It is also noteworthy that the QB the Bills take at 2 will be a better QB prospect than RG3.
I don't ask for any picks in 2019 for the simple reason that the QB draft class next year is terrible. The Giants must look to the 2020 draft to find a franchise QB. I want the draft capital in 2020 and 2021 to make sure that I can select a franchise QB. Thus, unlike the people who recommend the Giants take Barkley at 2, and don't have a coherent plan for finding a franchise QB, I have kept away from that kind of gross and irresponsible mismanagement by acquiring two first round picks that can be used on a trade up for a franchise QB.
