How much draft capital have we spent on OL in the past few seasons? People keep saying "fix the OL".....Seems to me like that's all they have tried to do.
How about get a better QB too. One that doesn't need everything around him ready-made to be successful. Because that's all I get from the Jones fans. He needs this, he needs that. None of it is ever on him to deliver.....
We have no WR, no dependable TE, one sure OL, and a 2nd guy at RB. We have nothing, and this draft isn't going to move that needle by a lot. It would take YEARS to build the 49'ers around Jones, so he has YEARS of built-in excuses at this rate. Lest we forget, we have holes to fill on defense too. So I can already see the excuses piling on as the season goes on and Jones struggles again. So what we draft Nabers in Rd1. The defense just rolls the coverage to him, and who's Jones going to? Waller? Hell he can't play ½ the time. Who else? Wan'dale Robinson? Darrius Slayton? Does anyone think Defenses respect Singletary like they had to Saquon? Nope. This offense is a joke right now, and one draft isn't going to fix any unit. He'll take the sacks, and the excuses will be "no one is open".
The only one where you could have an instant impact with a guy who can make plays is at QB. But we got Jones....You're not "fixing" the OL or building an offense around Jones from nothing in one year. So why keep trying with this guy? By the time you had a capable offense around him, he'd be looking for a bigger payday. FOH.
Agree to a point. Anticipation is a real thing. Throwing a receiver open is real. Maybe I should have elaborated on this more. A elite receiver like Jefferson maybe able to creat about 1.5 yards of separation out of his breaks why the Giants receivers are .7 yards. I don’t know the exact on on this I’m sure PFF can. I don’t pay for there stuff. My argument is Jones has to see it open to let it go. In actuality if there is a one on one. The ball is out before the cut is made. Thats anticipation and throwing a receiver open. That’s the montanas, Brady etc. they were all smarter then anyone on the field Those who do it usually still have success without outstanding separation
