You have to be careful folks, the more you look the more you find. Two can become four in the blink of an eye. Quite simply the Giants cannot beat the Redskins next week. The game plan if there is one is to devise a way to only attempt filed goals. There's a fair chance some of those will miss. We all knew the Giants were going to win one more game, I've been told that for weeks now which makes some of this feel a little fixed. Eli's send off at home to a half empty stadium felt like something created for TV not actually happening on the field. What did we learn in this game?
If you check any of the sports web sites they will rattle off a bunch of nonsense about third downs and such but I detected a few interesting angles on the game.
1-> Eli makes Saquan better. This cannot be denied. Eli yells out Saquan's blocking assignments for him, Saquan gets used to that and when Danny Dimes is in there... silence and often Barkley was missing the block. A subtle but huge point.
2-> Eli makes Sterling Shepard better. This cannot be denied. Eli has always loved the slot receiver. It's not about deep throws, or throws to the edges, without a tight End Eli loves the slot. Eli and Shephard have developed a wonderful simpatico that Danny and Shep lack.
3-> Barkley does best when he has 20+ carries.
4-> Our Defense can be more than capable when it wants to.
Ok so we used up a lot of cards last week. We had an Eli pre game speech in which he electrified the boys by saying the " F Word " highly unlike Eli. And we had the Eli game ball and a farewell of sorts from the fans. This week we have The Chase Young Bowl. There is no other way to look at this game. The loser of this game gets Chase Young and both teams want him. What will the Redskins do to ensure a loss on their side and how can we match it?

This is going to be confusing. Starting with the Giants which QB gives you the better chance of losing? Danny Dimes will be psyched to win that's a negative, he will be using his legs as much as his arms, another negative, he will want to show that he too can call out audibles and do adult QB things. Shepard will not have as big of game although Slayton will play better. Saquan will miss a few blocks and the sack total may go up; Danny may pass more and his carries might come down as well. Danny could fumble. There are many reasons to play Danny Dimes!
But hold up. We don't want any injury here. Can you imagine if Danny gets rolled up and that same ankle snaps... What could Eli bring to the table? After an emotional home win the richest man in football history probably won't be playing too brave in Washington. Eli wanted to give the boys the feeling of winning again and he's done that and in all honesty this game, lets just make everyone feel good about running the ball. A dirty, low scoring affair that awe might lose 20-17.
Eli Manning should start. Or should he? Across the way the new QB for Washington Haskins has a bone to pick with the Giants. Revenge is on the mind of the young star and he would like nothing better than to out duel Danny Dimes. The feeling is mutual. If these two young bucks hook up in an aerial affair the score will be high, high, high... anything might happen. Truly exciting football. But what About Chase.
Chase Young Is Good Enough To Lose One Game on Purpose. Both GM's know this, all three owners know this.
Pat Shurmur wants a win for his record. Eli Manning wants to win to push his record one win past 500.
Danny Dimes should start. Or should he? ~stoney
